Trump Draws Red Line for Iran: No Nuclear Weapons, No More Blockade
US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, stating that the United States is preparing to make a “final decision” regarding the ongoing tensions between the two nations. Trump said the US is willing to lift the maritime blockade around the Strait of Hormuz, but only if Iran agrees never to develop nuclear weapons in the future. Speaking through his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump emphasized that Iran must officially declare that it will not possess atomic weapons under any circumstances. He also demanded that the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes — be reopened immediately for unrestricted global shipping without any tolls or limitations. Trump revealed that he had been holding continuous meetings in the Situation Room to finalize the framework of a possible agreement with Iran. According to him, Iran would have to accept every US condition in order to avoid further conflict and move toward peace. The US President also claimed that American underwater mine sweepers had successfully destroyed several sea mines allegedly placed in the region. He said Iran would now be responsible for removing the remaining mines so that stranded commercial ships could safely resume operations. Trump further stated that the United States, Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) could jointly eliminate enriched nuclear materials buried under Iranian mountain facilities that were reportedly damaged during earlier US B-2 bomber strikes nearly a year ago. Meanwhile, Iran responded sharply to Trump’s statements. A social media account linked to Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran gains strength through its missile capabilities, not negotiations or political pressure. The post also claimed that Iran does not trust promises or guarantees from Western nations and believes real power comes from military preparedness. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also reaffirmed Tehran’s support for Oman and said Iran would firmly resist any threats against the country. The exchange of warnings between Washington and Tehran has once again increased tensions in the Middle East. Global observers are now closely watching the US administration’s next move, as any major decision could impact regional stability, oil markets, and international trade routes in the coming days.
